This post is for my CRI 2 homework final turn in. This last month has been one full of ups and downs. To start off when we first go the rig files mine were breaking and crashing right and left. What was causing this? Simple I had just upgraded to Maya 2015. Once I got the third service pack things began to run better. I really enjoyed figuring out the binding of the skin to the MoCap rig and I had a few issues with the weight painting but nothing to bad. Lets just say never Z back!
I think my favorite part by far were the blend shapes. They were challenging but if you used the script provided they were fast and effective. Also the facial blend shapes when made in MudBox went like a dream! After the fun of blend shapes I really found jiggle to be interesting but I had the hardest time figuring out nCloth. There need to be better podcasts so that students can have less trouble and more fun figuring it out. As for the fur and the nHair I can honestly say they were a good level of challenge, not to hard and not to easy. Overall the character came out looking fine and I had tons of fun. Word to the wise never wait until the last minute to ask for help, especially when it comes to the nCloth.
Here is my final shot. It only took one month and hours of work but it is definitely worth the end result. Enjoy!
